Associate Professor Richard Roylance
Dr Richard Roylance is one of the presenters of the Ethical Governance of Human Research Data in the Age of Genomics Workshop.
Richard is an Associate Professor with the School of Medicine, Griffith University who has a long-standing appointment as an eminent staff specialist paediatrician in Brisbane. He has sub-speciality expertise is in the area of child protection. Richard was appointed as a member of the Metro South Human Research Ethics Committee (MSHREC) from 2006-17, and served as Chair for the past 3 years. He was the Paediatric Adviser to Queensland Health for almost a decade – in that role providing clinical and policy advice to government. Richard is a Sessional Member of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT). His interest in the protection of children has extended over the past two decades into a broader interest in the protection and support of vulnerable persons more generally. In 1995 he was awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust (WCMT) Fellowship.
